The New Generation Greening Africa Organization is a non-governmental and not-for-profit organization established in February 2019 in Canada and legally registered in Ethiopia in 2021.
The New Generation Greening Africa Organization was established by five Ethiopians and other nationals who are deeply committed to, and with proven track record in environmental protection in Ethiopia and in the rest of the world.
Before its registration in Ethiopia, the founders were engaged in various charitable initiatives in Ethiopia, particularly in reforestation, environmental protection, education and awareness creation about the environment, job creation for youths, and various community-based initiatives.
The New Generation Greening Africa Organization is a membership-based organization, where the members constitute the General Assembly, which is the highest decision-making organ.
Greening Africa has a five-person Board of Directors, who are elected by the General Assembly to provide strategic direction, oversight and monitoring this organization’s overall activities and impact.
The day day-to-day operation is carried out by staff of the organization, including the Coordinator of The New Generation Greening Africa Organization.
The New Generation Greening Africa Organization gets its funding from members’ and volunteers’ contribution, donations and grants. The fund management is governed in compliance with its bylaw, host country legal requirements and international standards.
